Frequently asked questions

Why does PurePath ask for Screen Time permission?

The content shield uses Apple's Screen Time (Family Controls) framework to block apps and websites at the system level. iOS requires you to grant this permission explicitly. It's the same mechanism parents use for family devices — pointed at your own phone, on your own terms. PurePath never sees your browsing activity; Apple's architecture makes that technically impossible.

Is my data really private?

Yes — structurally, not just contractually. PurePath has no server, no account system, and no analytics. All data is stored in an encrypted database on your device. See the privacy policy for the full picture.

My accountability partner forgot their code. Can you reset it?

No — and that's deliberate. The code is stored only as a one-way hash on your device; neither PurePath nor Vectis can recover or reset it. If the code is lost, the fallback is removing and reinstalling the app, which erases all app data including your progress history. We recommend your partner stores the code somewhere safe when setting it up.

Will my streak survive if I get a new phone?

Your data is included in your device's standard encrypted iPhone backup (iCloud or computer backup), so restoring a new phone from backup carries PurePath's data with it. There is no separate PurePath sync — by design.

How do I delete everything?

Open PurePath → Settings → Delete All Data. This permanently erases everything the app stores. Deleting the app itself does the same. There is no copy anywhere else, so deletion is immediate and final.

Is PurePath a substitute for therapy?

No. PurePath is a self-help tool. It can support recovery, but it isn't treatment, and it isn't a crisis service. If you're finding things heavy, talking to a counselor, doctor, or support group is a genuinely strong move — and the app is designed to work alongside that, not instead of it.

When does PurePath launch?

PurePath is currently in TestFlight preparation. Email us with the subject "Notify me" and we'll let you know the moment it's live on the App Store.
